Prenatal supplementation to support the nutritional needs of pregnancy and breastfeeding
 
Prenatal provides the essential nutrients for healthy foetal development during pregnancy, as well as during breastfeeding. These key nutrients include folic acid, iodine, as well as other vitamin Bs, C and E. 
 
Folic acid is important in neural tube development, blood formation and for placenta growth during pregnancy. Daily supplementation of 400mcg (up to 1000mcg) is recommended during the first trimester and throughout the pregnancy.
 
Iodine is involved in thyroid hormones production and brain development in the foetus. Ensuring adequate (100-150mcg daily from supplements) but not excessive intake of iodine is important during pregnancy. Iodine is also present in the food that we consume.
 
Vitamin Bs (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine, cyanocobalamin, biotin and pantothenic acid) contribute to energy metabolism and the reduction of fatigue. Vitamin C and E assists in immune system support and protection against oxidative stress respectively. 
 
Prenatal may be taken with other prenatal supplements (including choline, iron, calcium and vitamin D) as needed.
 
Dosage: 1 tablet daily with meal and plenty of water.
